Purely Playful Collective is a small hobby cattery in Far North Queensland, run by a registered Maine Coon breeder. We're raising our kittens with plenty of handling, play and affection, so they grow into confident, loving companions.
Kittens are expected in 2027. Until then, we'd love to get to know the families hoping to welcome a Maine Coon into their home.

The breed
Meet the Maine Coon
One of the largest domestic cat breeds and among the oldest natural breeds in North America. Maine Coons are affectionate and sociable, like to be part of whatever you're doing, and keep a kitten's sense of play well into adulthood.
- Lynx tips
- Tufts of fur on the tips of the ears.
- Ruff
- A lion-like mane around the neck and chest.
- Snowshoe paws
- Big, round paws with tufts of fur between the toes.
- Plume tail
- A long, bushy tail they curl around themselves to keep warm.
- Chirps & trills
- A soft, bird-like voice instead of a loud meow.
Maine Coons in the tropics
That thick coat was made for Maine winters. In Far North Queensland, keep your Maine Coon cool with tiled floors, fans or air-conditioning, and brush more often through the wet season. An indoor life or a secure catio keeps them safe from traffic, paralysis ticks and wildlife.

When will kittens be available?
Our kittens are expected in 2027. Families who register their interest hear first when litters are planned.
Does registering my interest reserve a kitten?
No. An expression of interest is free and doesn't commit you to anything. It puts you on our list, and we'll talk through reserving a kitten once litters arrive.
Can I choose a colour or a boy or girl?
Let us know your preferences on the form. We can't promise a particular colour or sex until a litter arrives, but we'll keep your wishes in mind when we're in touch.
How much will a kitten cost?
We'll share pricing with families on our EOI list when litters are announced.
Do Maine Coons cope with the FNQ heat?
Yes, with a little help. Keep them cool indoors with tiled floors, fans or air-conditioning, brush them regularly to clear loose undercoat, and make sure fresh water is always within reach.
